R. Unnikrishnan is a TV series director working in Malayalam television industry. He debuted as a TV series director for Amrutha TV’s Swartham in 2010. After successful creation of Marimayam, Thateem Mutteeem now he is working on super duper family comedy Uppum Mulakum for Flowers TV.

He was born in Chadayamangalam, Kollam district and completed his education at Nilamel NSS College. He is happily married to Sreeja and have two kids.

After his study UnniKrishnan moved to Delhi in seek of a job, there he met the famous Malayalam movie director Shyamaprasad, which in turn open the way for him to direct dramas.

UnniKrishnan started his television career by directing a doco fiction Ormayil for Amrutha TV. After that he directed a serial Swartham which awarded him the second best serial for Kerala State in 2009.

Then UnniKrishnan joined Mazhavil Manorama at 2010 and directed super hit comedy program Marimayam. It has many now famous film actors and he have completed 200 episodes of Marimayam. Marimayam won Kerala state best comedy program for the two consecutive years 2011 and 2012.Then he directed Thatteem Mutteem another super hit comedy for Mazhavil Manorama which completed 180 episodes.

After Thatteem Mutteem comedy series UnniKrishnan moved to the new Television Channel Flowers TV with Mr. Sreekandan Nair to produce Uppum Mulakum a sitcom in 2015. It attracted people and families from all walks of life and is a clean family comedy. Uppum Mulakum revolves around a father Balu(Biju sopanam) a mother Neelu(Nisha Sarangh) and their for kids, Kesu(Al Sabith), Shiva(Shivani Menon) Lacchu(Juhi Rustagi) and Vishnu AKA Mudiayan(Rishi .S. Kumar).The backbone of this sitcom is script writer Suresh Babu.

Apart from these extra ordinary comedy work he has done a short film named Thaniye which won the award for best cameraman and best actress. Another short film Veedu in which famous Cine ActressMeera Nandan made her debut as an actress on any screen.

Now he is setting his eye on Malayalam movie industry to show his talent as a movie director
